AWS Transform discovery tool

The on-premises appliance that replaced the Application Discovery Service Agentless Collector.

What it is

A self-contained virtual appliance you deploy inside your own environment. It collects inventory and performance data locally and exports it for assessment. AWS positions it explicitly at regulated estates, because the appliance itself needs no outbound internet access.

How we use it

This is our default where a client's security posture rules out a collector that phones home. We take the export and model from it.

One thing to watch: supported sources are vCenter 6.5 to 8.0, Hyper-V and CSV import, and the offline claim is worth reading precisely. The appliance runs and stores everything locally without cloud connectivity, but you still upload the export to AWS to get a business case. Offline collection, not an offline assessment.
